This page explains what personal data We Help Each Other collects, why, and how you can exercise your rights — in line with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Legal basis and retention period
Processing is based on carrying out your membership relationship with the association (you choose to create an account and take part). Data is kept for as long as the account stays active, and deleted or anonymised [period to be completed] after an account is deleted or stays inactive for a long time — except for entries already recorded in the audit log (append-only, see below), which are needed to keep the history of past distributions intact.
Public audit log
To guarantee that scoring and distribution calculations are never altered after the fact, every financial operation is recorded in a public, hash-chained audit log that anyone can verify (see the Transparency page). This log refers to help requests and distributions by technical identifier only, never by email or password.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics tool (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixel). Your browser stores locally (localStorage, never sent to any third party) two pieces of information strictly needed for the site to work: your login token, and your light/dark display preference.
Who receives your data
Data is never shared with any third party for commercial purposes. It stays hosted on the association's server (see hosting), within the European Union.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, and receive a copy of your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time (by deleting your account). To exercise these rights, contact contact@wehelpeachother.org.
